You've been framed!

OK I still see a lot of websites that use frames, and I do not understand why because frames are to be frank "useless" in many ways.

It is a known fact that websites that use frames are not indexed by search engines, this is because the index page of a website that uses frames is basically an empty page to a search engine as there are no links or content to index, so if you wish to have visitors to your website do not use frames.

Frames are generally used because people are not sure on another way to achieve the same result another way, but the same result can be achieved using other web programming languages such as PHP, Basics in PHP can be picked up really easy and for the basics you do not need to be an expert PHP programmer by any means, So the replacement in PHP for HTML frames is an PHP include, PHP includes work 100% better than HTML frames because search engines can see all the content and your website links.

The way HTML frames work, HTML frames work by having 2 - 3 or sometimes 4 pages put into frames on your index page for example: header, footer, menu, content pages.

The way PHP includes work, PHP includes work by your main page (Content page) including 2 - 3 or sometimes more pages into your content page, and because the are "included" into the page search engines are able to index your website links and content.

So please do a little research in PHP basics as they are really easy to learn and will benefit your website in the long run, but most off all it will get rid of those UGLY frames.

Confusing Fonts

You might be wondering what the heck I mean by "Confusing Fonts" well over the last few years I've been to many websites that use fonts that are just unreadable and this can get annoying after a while, so why do people insist on using fonts are are just unreadable ?

I just dont have an exact reason to why people insist on using confusing fonts but I think that they do not like using the standard fonts just because they look standard.
I personally think standard fonts can look really nice with editing in a photo editor and are easy to read, look clean and you do not have to go looking for hours to find a font that you think is nice but in reality is unreadable for most people.

Here are a few standard fonts that I have played with in a photo editor and you can see the difference they no longer look "standard" they are easy to read, do not look confusing, they look clean and they look good, so please dont keep using confusing fonts, try standard ones with a little editing it can be really rewarding and most of all other people can actually read your fonts.

Flash to be or not to be ?

My personal preference on Flash is simply do not use it, My reason for this is if you have not been trained to use it, anything you make with it looks tacky, I know this as I have tried and you guessed it I failed, but this does not mean that every websites with Flash is "tacky", As there are websites out there that have really thought about the ways in which they have used Flash.

Then we move on to these "New Age Bingo Websites", I know a few people that use them and if I were to sum them up in one word it would have to be SLOW, Their website are made almost completely with Flash and because of that many browsers find it hard to handle the amount of memory they need to run properly.

So in my opinion do not use flash unless you know how to use it properly.

My First Post!

Let me introduce myself, My name is Dominic and I design and code websites. I have found that there are a lot of steps we could take to make designing and coding a lot more simple, so I will be posting about these steps and giving examples of certain steps and certain problems that we will all face during the course of designing and coding a website.
